About the Department

The Department of Archaeology and Anthropology has a vibrant graduate program. We offer a Master of Arts degree in Archaeology, are currently developing a PhD. Program, and have begun developing an M.A. in Medical Anthropology.

The Department has a major focus on the prehistory and history of the Northern Plains including long-term research projects such as the Wanuskewin Archaeological Project and numerous cultural resource management studies.  The department also will accept a limited number of applications for research at the M.A. level in Syro-Palestinian archaeology.

The Anthropology program has specializations in Medical Anthropology and Environmental Anthropology. Both streams have strengths in ethnographic theory and method, psychological/cognitive/symbolic approaches, public policy, and socially engaged research.

Please contact us for an information package, or use the on-line application form.
