The Department of Art and Art History offers undergraduate degree programs in Studio and Art History as well as an MFA graduate program (the terminal degree in studio) and special case MA studies in Art History. The Department's undergraduate programs in Studio and Art History are interdisciplinary and interdependent, requiring students to take a number of core classes in each discipline. The Department also offers Art Education classes in the College of Education towards the B.ED and BA degrees. The Department has developed its undergraduate and graduate programs in response to the needs of a diverse student body interested in pursuing a wide range of public and private employment opportunities as professional artists, educators, curators, arts and media administrators, architects, graphic communication designers, and conservators, among other careers.
The Department's Mission Statement The mission of the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Saskatchewan is to provide a dynamic, innovative and interdisciplinary learning environment of artistic and academic excellence in the areas of Art History Studio and Art Education. education for undergraduate students, and programs leading to the Bachelor's
Degree in Studio and Art History at the major, advanced and honours level
