Welcome to the homepage for the Keewatin Country Graduate History Conference!

Organised by the History Departments at the University of Saskatchewan, the University of Manitoba, and the University of Winnipeg, the Keewatin Conference offers graduate and top undergraduate students an opportunity to present their work--often for the first time--in a collegial scholarly environment. It also facilitates networking and sharing of ideas among both students and professors from other institutions both nearby and far away.

The 2011 Keewatin Country Conference was organized by the University of Saskatchewan History Department and held at the Temple Gardens Mineral Spa and Resort in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan from April 28-30, 2011.

The keynote for 2011 speaker was Professor Sterling Evans, holder of the Louise Welsh Chair in Oklahoma, Southern Plains, and Borderlands History at the University of Oklahoma. Author and editor of four books, Professor Evans is a leader in the fields of transnational borderlands and environmental histories. His address was based on his book Bound in Twine, which won the Theodore Saloutos Best Book Prize from the Agricultural History Society in 2008.

Please check this site in 2011-2012 for information about the 2012 conference!
