Career Opportunities

Your knowledge of power systems can help prevent major power blackouts and protect the environment through the management of new energy sources. You will gain the skills for robotic design. Your career opportunities will be endless, and will include the following:

creating electronic devices such as 3-D TVs, Blu-Ray players, cell phones and iPads
designing power train technology and control systems for vehicles
developing instruments to be used in agriculture, medicine, manufacturing and more
developing green energy technologies such as solar panels and wind generators

Getting Involved

Join the student chapter of the Institute for Electrical & Electronics Engineers which hosts many functions during the year such as the High Voltage Classic road hockey tournament to raise money for charity and a job-hunting field trip to Calgary. This outstanding group regularly wins regional and national awards and repeatedly raises more money for charity than any similar group in Canada.

You may also participate in the Saskatoon Engineering Students’ Society which organizes college-wide events, the student chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers, and SPARC—a group of third- and fourth-year students who offer laboratory help to fellow students.
